San Diego Crime Drops to Lowest Rate Since 1963

All seven major crime categories tracked by the San Diego Police Department – homicide, rape, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, theft and auto theft – declined in 2010 compared to the previous year.

City of San Diego officials released the statistics this week, indicating that the crime rate in the city limits was actually the lowest in 47 years.
