Mt. Carmel, Westview Make Basketball Playoffs

Both Mt. Carmel and Westview high schools open the girls basketball San Diego Section Division II playoffs at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Mt. Carmel (20-7) hosts Hilltop, while Westview (20-7) entertains El Centro Southwest.

Then, on Wednesday, both schools begin play in the Division II boys basketball tournament – with Westview (19-9) hosting Bonita Vista, and Mt. Carmel (7-19) traveling to second seeded Hoover.
