Poway Schools Election Filing Deadline Extended
Posted on August 5, 2010
Because Poway Unified School District Board Trustee Jeff Mangum is stepping down, the candidate filing deadline was extended until 5 p.m. on Aug. 11.
Already, six candidates have filed — or announced their intentions to file — for three board positions up for election in November. Incumbents Todd Gutschow, the current board president, and Penny Ranftle, a 16-year veteran of the board, plan to seek re-election. Other known candidates include:
- Stan Rodkin, a former board trustee and Rancho Penasquitos resident; (former Trustee; PQ resident)
- Marc Davis, a financial consultant from Poway
- Kimberly Beatty, a PTA advocate and Sabre Springs resident
- Frederick Pierce, a student housing executive and 4S Ranch resident
